Pusooy (pusooy . Net)

July 26, 2010
This morning we get on the subway to the southern tip of Manhattan and take the free ferry to Staten Island, just to see the Statue of Liberty, one of the most famous icons the world.

Lower Manhattan by ferry

The journey is fast and when we go back to Manhattan on foot to the World Trade Center. A short, silent pause in front of this place is the least tribute we can make to all those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy. We try to imagine what could have happened in those hours and the thought makes us shudder. ...

then proceed to Chinatown and when we get the heat, the confusion and tiredness for our endless journey, we make the decision to desist from further visit to this colorful and chaotic neighborhood.
Back to the hotel and then at 18:00 we are ready to leave again to go on Top of the Rock, a viewing platform outside the 70th floor of Rockefeller Center.

Exciting is the elevator up to the fast and spectacular is the view enjoyed from the top and 360 ° across New York.

the top we stop to watch the sunset and the lights that light up gradually throughout the city.
Graziella almost do not believe in what you are seeing and experiencing and expressing his enthusiasm continually repeating "I do not seem true that all this is happening, I'm just watching a movie!"

Wake up at 7:30 and after a hearty breakfast we continue the metro to go to Brooklyn. We went down near the bridge, and homonym walk the walk under the scorching sun, admiring from a distance the skyline of New York and trying to recognize the names of the buildings that rise before us.

A Brooklyn

do a quick tour of Dumbo area, where we stop for lunch, as always made salad, and then resume their journey home. Usual stop at the hotel and later visit to Central Park, which is very close and then we can reach on foot. Central Park is huge and you can not turn it on foot in half a day, then take some of his tracks and reach Strawberry Field, the garden dedicated to the memory of John Lennon and near which there is a small lake.

We have dinner at an Italian restaurant: there are those who ordered the pizza, some pasta and meat but whoever , but they all eat well. Also this time I changed my mind!

After dinner we decided to make a last lap in Times Square at night and full of beautiful people, seems to be the center of the world!

New York, though not without flaws, is truly a beautiful city, colorful, lively, charming and ruthless.
unlike any other city I've ever seen, and beyond all expectations.
People are very helpful and many times during our wandering, struggling with guides and maps, we happened to hear us ask if we needed help or directions. It is with this beautiful impression that we leave tomorrow, flying to Las Vegas ....
